Mayte Figueroa, MD, FACC

Dr. Mayte Figueroa is a native New Yorker and completed her medical degree at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in 1992. After general pediatrics residency at Mount Sinai Hospital, she completed pediatric cardiology fellowships at Mount Sinai Hospital/Medical University of South Carolina from 1996 to 1999.She then completed a fourth year fellowship in Cardiac Intensive Care at Texas Children’s Hospital. After serving as Medical Director of CICU at LeBonheur Children‘s Hospital (2009-2016), she was recruited to St. Louis Children’s Hospital where she is the Medical Director of the Transitional Care Unit (Inpatient Cardiology Unit )   Her academic focus is in simulation based team training and improvement science, and she completed the I2S2 course in Cincinnati in 2017. She has been an avid participant in collaborative networks including NPC-QIC, PC4 and now PAC³.
