Dr. Ronn Tanel attended medical school at the University of Miami School of Medicine and completed pediatric residency at UCSD Medical Center in San Diego, CA.  He then completed a pediatric cardiology fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital, including a senior fellowship in pediatric cardiac electrophysiology. Following fellowship, he joined the faculty at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia from 1998 – 2008. In 2008, Dr. Tanel was recruited to direct the Pediatric and Congenital Arrhythmia Service at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital. During that time, he also became director of the Pediatric Cardiac Transitional Care Unit. Dr. Tanel’s academic interests are in the areas of long-term outcomes and quality improvement in pediatric cardiac electrophysiology and acute care inpatient pediatric cardiology. He is a member of the Pediatric and Congenital Electrophysiology Society’s Quality Improvement committee. He became interested in PAC3 as a means to network with other centers to improve inpatient safety and outcomes. Through his involvement with PAC3, he was asked to chair of the collaborative’s Scientific Review Committee.
