Pediatric Acute Care Cardiology is a specialized field focused on the treatment of pediatric patients with serious or acute heart problems.
Acute Care clinicians work within Acute Care Cardiology Units (ACCU) to deliver high quality care for children with heart conditions and those recovering from surgery. The pediatric acute care cardiology team typically includes cardiologists, advanced practice providers, nurses, pharmacists, dieticians, social workers, child life specialists, clinical care coordinators, physical and occupational therapists and hospitalists.
PAC³ recognized the need to connect Pediatric Acute Care Cardiology centers across North America and is currently the only collaborative for pediatric acute care cardiology clinicians and patients and families.
