Robert J. Hartman was an army brat and grew up in a variety of locations throughout Michigan, Indiana, Georgia, and South Carolina, as well as a stint in Belgium.  He completed his undergraduate degree in biology at Furman University, medical school at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine with shared time between Columbia and Greenville, and pediatrics residency at Greenville Hospital System (now Prisma Health) in Greenville, SC.  He underwent an Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) Research Fellowship at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, Georgia, and then completed his pediatric cardiology fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit.  He currently serves as the PAC3 clinical champion at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in Chapel Hill, NC.

Rob’s interests include epidemiology of congenital heart disease, acute care pediatric cardiology, non-invasive cardiac imaging, and the education of medical learners at all stages of training.
