Once the proposal has been approved by the Scientific Review Committee (SRC), the principal investigator will schedule a meeting with the Data Manager and the Data Coordinating Center (DCC) Chair to review the data request and determine the format of anticipated output, including mock tables and figures. In addition, data analysis requests will be discussed and delineated. The data can be delivered in various types of files, so it is important to know what type of file will be needed for data analysis. Once data is delivered and analyzed, an additional meeting with the Data Manager and the Data Coordinating Center Chair will be scheduled to finalize interpretation and results.
It is expected that an accepted research proposal with data delivery and analysis will be submitted as an abstract to a scientific meeting and will be submitted to a peer-reviewed journal in manuscript form. Academic output will be completed within a year of receiving the data. The principal investigator should submit draft abstracts to the SRC at least two weeks prior to the submission deadline for review and should allow at least three weeks for SRC review of a manuscript. Abstracts and manuscripts using PAC3 data should clearly attribute the report as from PAC3 in the author block.
Please refer to the PAC3 Proposal Agreement for a full list of expectations for abstract and manuscript submission. The Data Source language may be useful in writing the methods section.
